How to download your Bank of America transactions as a CSV file
Last verified: September 2026 — Bank of America's interface changes periodically. If a step looks different, the function is usually still there, just moved.
Works for Bank of America checking accounts, savings accounts, and credit cards. You’ll get a .CSV file you can import directly into trak-yo-dolla$ or any spreadsheet.
Steps
1
Sign in at bankofamerica.com.
2
Click on the specific account you want to export — checking, savings, or a credit card. Each account exports separately, so pick one to start. You’ll repeat these steps for each additional account.
3
On the account page, look for a Download link or button near your transaction list. It’s typically in the upper area of the transaction section.
4
A dialog opens. Set your date range, then select Microsoft Excel format (.csv) as the file type. The other options (Quicken, Microsoft Money) won’t work here.
5
Click Download. The file saves to your Downloads folder.
What’s in the file
Columns
The CSV includes date, description, amount, and running balance. trak-yo-dolla$ uses the date, description, and amount — the balance column is ignored on import.Amounts: Withdrawals are negative, deposits are positive. For credit cards, charges are negative and payments are positive.
Exporting multiple accounts
Each account exports separately. If you have a checking account and a credit card, download two files and import each one — the app merges them automatically and shows everything together.
Keeping it current
Re-export every month or so to stay current. Overlapping date ranges are fine; the app skips duplicates.
Once you have the file, import it in trak-yo-dolla$ — open the app, click Import a CSV, and select your file. Nothing leaves your device.
