How to download your Chase transactions as a CSV file

Last verified: September 2026 — Chase's interface changes periodically. If a step looks different, the function is usually still there, just moved.

Works for Chase checking accounts, savings accounts, and all Chase credit cards — Freedom, Sapphire, Ink, and others. You'll get a .CSV file you can import directly into trak-yo-dolla$ or any spreadsheet.

Steps

1
Sign in at chase.com.
2
Click on the specific account you want to export — for example, your Freedom card, your Sapphire card, or your checking account. Each account exports separately, so pick one to start. You'll repeat these steps for each additional account.
3
Scroll to your transaction list. Next to the “Showing” dropdown, look for a row of small icons. Click the download icon on the right end of the row — it looks like a down arrow pointing into a horizontal line. Its tooltip reads “Download account activity.”
4
A “Download Account Activity” dialog opens with three fields:
  • Account — pre-filled with your current account. Change it here if needed.
  • File type — select Spreadsheet (Excel, CSV). The other options (QFX, QIF, QBO) are for Quicken, Microsoft Money, or QuickBooks and won’t work here.
  • Activity — choose your date range. “All transactions” covers everything available. Note: Chase limits exports to 1,200 transactions at a time — if you have years of history, use a narrower date range and download in batches.
5
Click Download. The file saves to your Downloads folder with a name like Chase1234_Activity_20240101_20241231.CSV.

What’s in the file

Columns
The CSV includes transaction date, post date, description, category, type, and amount. trak-yo-dolla$ uses the date, description, and amount — everything else is ignored on import.

Amounts: For checking and savings, withdrawals are negative and deposits are positive. For credit cards, charges are negative and payments are positive. The app handles both correctly.

Exporting multiple accounts

Each account exports separately. If you have a Chase checking account and a Chase Sapphire card, download two files and import each one — the app merges them automatically and shows everything together.

Keeping it current

Chase only exports posted transactions — pending ones aren't included yet. Re-export every month or so to stay current. Overlapping date ranges are fine; the app skips duplicates.

Once you have the file, import it in trak-yo-dolla$ — open the app, click Import a CSV, and select your file. Nothing leaves your device.
